Aside from his involvement in Chicago Society he is also active in Student Government and a member of the International Students Advisory Board. Previously in CS, Tomás has worked in the organization of the BRIC in 2020 conference in 2010 and was responsible for the finances of the Post-Crisis: Perspectives on the Sovereign Debt Question. He has also served as Undergraduate Liaison to the Board of Trustees during the Winter of 2011.

Lucy Duan (yduan1), Executive Director

Lucy Duan is a fourth-year at the University of Chicago majoring in Economics and Comparative Literature. She joined CS in the fall of 2010 and served as the Director of External Communications in 2011-12. She has led several events within CS including ”Good Derivatives” (2012) with Dr. Richard Sandor, “Naked Drug Policy” (2011) with Professor Charles Wheelan, small-group discussions on liberal education, and the past two annual conferences: Post-Crisis: Perspectives on the Sovereign Debt Question and BRIC in 2020Throughout her time at CS, Lucy has seen the organization as an arena to ask probing questions and engage in meaningful conversations with peers and experts from around the world. She is excited and honored to serve as Executive Director in 2012-13.
In addition to Chicago Society, Lucy is a Community Fellow at International House and also serves on the boards of the International Student Advisory Board and the University of Chicago Consulting Club (UCCC). Kayla Reinherz (kreinherz), Events Director

Kayla is a second year in the college majoring in Economics and Public Policy.  Joining CS during her first year, she helped organize the logistics of Post-Crisis: Perspectives on the Sovereign Debt Question , and the Good Derivatives talk and book signing with Professor Richard Sandor.  It has been less than a year since she joined, but she has already found within Chicago Society a passionate and diverse community that works hard to organize events that complement and add depth to our studies, as well as shed light on some of the most important social and economic questions of our time.
Outside of CS, she is also involved in GALS (Gender Activism, Learning, and Service) and Student Government on campus.  On the side, she also enjoys keeping up with Ruth Bader Ginsberg.  And of course, on Wednesdays, she wears pink.

Arundhati Chandrasekhar (achandrasekhar), Marketing Director

Arundhati is a third-year in the College majoring in Economics and minoring in Human Rights. She joined Chicago Society as a first-year and enjoyed every single aspect of the organization: the interest in current affairs, the active debate and discussion, and the empowerment inherent in bringing a meaningful event to campus. She was recently involved in Post-Crisis: Perspectives on the Sovereign Debt Question and “Good Derivates”: An Evening with Dr. Richard Sandor, and was involved in several interesting events her first year as well. As an economics student who wishes not to lose touch with what goes on outside the borders of campus, she is excited to serve as Marketing Director for Chicago Society.
Outside of Chicago Society, she enjoys her role as Assistant Resident Head of Booth House in International House, and as a member of the executive board of South Side Free Music Program, where she teaches two wonderful little boys to play the guitar.

Hannah Wang (hannahw), Finance Director

Hannah is a second-year in the College studying Computer Science and Economics. She joined Chicago Society her first year and found that she really enjoyed the independence and support that the organization afforded her. She was involved in Naked Drug Policy: The Ultimate Supply and Demand, “Good Derivatives”: An Evening with Dr. Richard Sandor, and Post-Crisis: Perspectives on the Sovereign Debt Question
She is particularly interested in exploring the role of government in the financial sphere and the rapidly evolving world of user-focused technology. Outside of Chicago Society, she enjoys playing tennis, biking into new areas of Chicago, and pretending that she knows how to cook.
